How much advance notice is needed to schedule an interpreter?

A: The sooner a request is received, the more likely it will be successfully filled.  We understand there are times when advance notice cannot be given and we do our best to fill all last minute requests.

Is there a charge for last minute cancellations?

Yes. Cancellation of assignments without the required notice will be charged for the scheduled time.  The interpreters that work through InterpretingPlus are all independent contractors and it is the standard practice that they bill for last minute cancellations and no-shows.

Is there an additional charge for travel time and mileage?

Only those assignments outside of Franklin County will be billed travel time and mileage.

What is InterpretingPlus’ policy regarding confidentiality?

Our interpreters are bound by a Code of Professional Conduct as set by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).   The tenets include, but are not limited to:

  • Interpreters adhere to standards of confidential information
  • Interpreters possess the professional skills and knowledge required for the specific interpreting situation
  • Interpreters engage in professional development

Q: What is the minimum charge for hiring an interpreter?
A: While the industry standard is to charge a 2 hour minimum, in keeping with our ambitions, InterpretingPlus charges only a one-hour minimum for interpreting services.
